1.What forms of payment are accepted?
The University of North Texas accepts eCheck and credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express) payments online at my.unt.edu. Cash payments are accepted at the Cashiers office next to Student Accounting on the Denton Campus. Check payments can also be made in person at the Cashiers office and at the Dallas Campus. UNT is happy to provide students a range of options for paying educational expenses. However, those choosing to pay by credit or debit card for the educational expenses billed through Student Accounting will begin paying a 2.7% service fee, effective Jan. 1, 2015. The fee covers the cost to the University for making credit and debit card payments available. UNT will continue to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit and debit cards online for payment. This change is scheduled for implementation on January 1, 2015. Credit and debit card payments for students who early register for the Spring 2015 semester can be made by December 31, 2014 to avoid the service fee for this spring.

2.What if I make a schedule change after I complete the payment process?
You should always check your student account online at my.unt.edu after making any schedule changes. Any amount owed must be paid by the designated due date on your account or your class schedule could be adjusted. Any amount owed to you for an overpayment will be refunded.
3.How do I get proof of payment or a receipt?
Students can print out receipts at time of payment on their myUNT account. Students can get account summaries of their semester's finances and transactions in person at the Student Accounting office (ESSC 105) or by calling 940-565-3225 to request it by mail.
4.Are credit card payments accepted over the phone?
All credit card payments must be completed online at my.unt.edu. Processing the payments online is a secure and efficient method.
5.How do I pay for my on-campus housing?
Your Housing charges will be posted to your myUNT student account. Payment for Housing will be made through the same account that you use to pay your tuition, your myUNT account. The balance for the semester will be combined with your tuition and fees costs for classes.

6.I am being charged a Medical Service Fee, but I have health insurance. Can that be waived?
The medical service fee is a mandatory fee and is charged to all students enrolled in a class that is connected to the Denton campus. It cannot be waived.
7.I am being charged a Recreational Facility Fee, but I do not plan to use the Recreational Center. Can that be waived?

8.I will be taking a class at the UNT Dallas campus. Am I required to pay all of the mandatory fees?
You will not be charged the medical service fee, student union fee, recreational facility fee or transportation fee if you are not taking any classes on the Denton campus. You will be charged those fees if one or more of your classes are connected to the Denton campus.
9.All of my classes are on the internet. Am I required to pay all of the mandatory fees?

11.What is the percentage increase of tuition each year?
The University of North Texas keeps the increases of tuition and fees to a minimum and the percentage of increase is based on many factors, including the funding level from the State of Texas. The increases are normally announced each March for the following academic year. However, tuition and fees are subject to change before registration begins each semester. 12.How much is the admission application fee?
Application Fee Amount: The application fee for U.S. Citizens & Permanent residents is $75, if received by the Priority Date. After the Priority Date, the application fee is $90.

5. Enter the dollar amount without any commas or dollar signs.
6. Select a payment method, click on "Continue", then fill out the information necessary to process your payment.
7. Wait for your confirmation number to confirm the transaction.

15.What is the full-time undergraduate tuition plan?
At UNT full-time undergraduate students will pay the same amount for university tuition and fees in a fall or spring semester regardless of how many hours they take. You are considered full-time once you register for 12 hours or more at any one campus.
Because tuition at Texas public universities includes two costs, you still will have to pay a required additional $50* per hour in state tuition for each hour you take above 12. The course-specific fees, which vary by discipline, also will be added to your tuition bill as usual.

1.When is my fall/spring aid going to disburse / refund?
It is important to understand that there is a difference between disbursement and refunds and they occur at two different times.
Disbursement = when your financial aid is sent to Student Accounting to pay your bill.
Refund = when Student Accounting processes and sends your refund.
Timeline of events before the semester starts
Federal Regulations state that financial aid must wait until 10 days before the start of the semester (Fall then Spring) to begin disbursing money to pay your account. Student accounting will then begin the refund process. Student Accounting states that refunds will be completed by the end of Regular Registration.

3.How can I determine if my refund has been processed?
Please review your student account online at my.unt.edu. Select the "Account Balance" link under the "Finances" tab. click on the "Term Summary" tab to choose the appropriate semester. Choose "Account Detail." You will see an itemized list of your charges and payments. A refund will show as "Refund Processed" at the bottom of the page.
Please remember that during the first disbursements of a semester, the refund process may take several days to complete. Students having refunds processed during Fall & Spring registration periods should expect to see their refund by the last day of regular registration.
4.Can I pick up my refund in your office?
No, all refunds are processed through BankMobile, a financial services company. For more information see our website http://studentaccounting.unt.edu/refunds.
5.I want to receive my refund quicker than waiting for it to be mailed. What can I do?
The fastest way to receive a refund is to choose Easy Refund into your Bank Mobile Vibe account. Students use their UNT Debit card to select their refund preference. Please log on to https://bankmobilevibe.com/ for more information.
6.What address is used for refund checks that are mailed?
Your mailing address is used for mailing refunds. You can update or change your preferred address online at my.unt.edu.
7.I have moved and my refund check was mailed to the wrong address. What should I do?
You should update your address online at my.unt.edu, and log on to UNT Debit card to update your address with Bank Mobile. Students should call Bank Mobile at 1-877-327-9515 to stop payment on a check dated over 12 days ago and have them reissue the check.
8.How does my parent sign up for electronic refunds?
Parent loans are sent to the parent through the mail by BankMobile, unless the parent designated it be sent to the student. Then the disbursement will be sent based upon the preference designated by the student.
9.I have changed my bank account. How do I update my banking information?
To change your ACH refund preference, please log into your online profile using your email address and password at https://bankmobilevibe.com/. Choose the second refund option listed - ACH transfer (to other bank) - then print, sign and mail an ACH activation form with your updated information to Bank Mobile.
10.Why did I receive a refund check for a small amount?
The refund may include a credit for a course fee that was reduced from a previous semester. Some of the course fees were reduced after it was determined the entire amount charged was not needed to fund the course. Please contact the Student Accounting office at 940-565-3225 or Student.Accounting@unt.edu for inquiries into your refund.
11.My aid is on my account summary, why hasn't my refund processed?
A refund can only be processed if the aid has disbursed and moved from the anticipated aid category to financial aid category. Student Accounting typically processes refunds on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However that schedule can change based on the time of the semester. For example, when financial aid disburses in mass at the beginning of each semester Student Accounting processes refunds more frequently.

12.Why do I owe charges even though I have received a refund?
Certain fees cannot be covered by federally funded financial aid. These include the Installment Plan fee, the Short Term Loan Origination, and late fees. It is possible that a student may owe a balance if they have made schedule changes after a refund was issued. Additionally, there are situations when financial aid must retract aid and that can result in a balance due.

The scholarship currently pays for the board designated tuition and mandatory fees. The student is responsible for state mandated tuition, any graduate level tuition, course/instructional fees and any additional fees.
5.How do I obtain the faculty/staff or dependent scholarship since I am an employee of the University of North Texas System?
You need to submit a scholarship request to the Student Accounting department on the Denton Campus each semester and summer session in which you are enrolled. 6.We have two children enrolled at the University of North Texas. Is there a discount available?
There is no discount available for families with more than one student enrolled at the same time.
7.How do I use my Texas Tomorrow Fund/Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan account?
You should provide the University with a copy of your Texas Tomorrow Fund/Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan ID card before the first semester you enroll. If your ID card is not available, please provide us with a letter from Texas Tomorrow with your ID number on it. You should contact Student Accounting at (940) 565-3225 the first semester you register for classes to have the Texas Tomorrow Fund applied to your account. After the initial registration, your account will reflect the Texas Tomorrow Fund for the fall and spring semesters. You will need to submit an email to Student.Accounting@unt.edu to have the Texas Tomorrow credit posted for the summer semester.
8.Where do I go to turn in my Texas Tomorrow card or letter?
All Texas Tomorrow Fund information should be submitted to the Student Accounting department on the Denton Campus, located in room 105 of the Eagle Student Service Center. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:15 am – 5:00 pm. The information can also be faxed to us at 940.565.3877.
9.Will the Texas Tomorrow Fund/Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan pay for all fees?
No, the Texas Tomorrow Fund pays for the tuition and mandatory fees for the number of hours you are enrolled for the current semester. Students will be responsible for paying the course fees.
Texas Tomorrow will pay for the total number of tuition hours that have been purchased under the student's plan. Students will be responsible for paying additional tuition hours not covered by their plan. Mandatory fees, that all students are required to pay for enrollment, are covered for a limited amount of semesters. Please contact the Texas Tomorrow Fund for additional information at 1-800-445-GRAD. Texas Tomorrow does not cover books, room and board, transportation costs or optional fees.
10.Why is the Texas Tomorrow credit not automatically posted to my account for the summer semesters?
Your tuition was prepaid based on a specific number of semesters and the account is charged each semester the university submits a bill. It is often more beneficial for students to use their Texas Tomorrow account for payment only during the Fall and Spring semesters if they will only be enrolled in one or two classes during the summer semester. We will not be posting your Texas Tomorrow payment for the summer semester to your student account unless you notify us. If you would like to use your Texas Tomorrow account, please submit an email request to Student.Accounting@unt.edu before the designated payment deadline for the session in which you enroll. The email should contain your student name and ID number and your request to have Texas Tomorrow applied to your account.
11.How do I use the Valedictorian Exemption I received?
Students should bring the Exemption certificate to Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services located in Room 105 of the Eagle Student Services Center at the Denton campus. The exemption must be used for the first regular session (Fall/Spring) immediately following graduation from high school.
12.Why is the SFH Hazlewood service indicator hold on my account?
As a potential Hazlewood recipient this hold is on your account for the following reason. Per changes in the State of Texas Education Code and in an effort to "Go Green", UNT offers an electronic agreement that when read and accepted will take the place of filling out a Hazlewood application for returning students each year. The original application is still required to be filled out prior to your first semester at UNT as a Hazlewood student, but after being accepted into the exemption program an electronic agreement will take the place of additional yearly applications. This agreement is to be read and accepted prior to registration each semester in order for you to receive the exemption.
13.What if I don’t agree with the information in the SFH Hazlewood agreement?
If any of the pertinent information from your original application has changed, or the eligibility for the exemption is in question, please contact a Hazlewood representative at 940-565-3225.
14.What if I don’t want to agree to the information in the SFH Hazlewood agreement?
If you do not want to accept the electronic agreement, please contact a Hazlewood representative at 940-565-3225. The alternative is to fill out a complete application once a year prior to the Fall semester.
15.How do I use my Texas Tuition Promise Fund?
The purchaser must authorize payment to UNT each semester by completing the Benefits Payment Authorization Form online at www.texastuitionpromisefund.com or by contacting customer service at 1-800-445-4723, option # 5, to request a copy of the form to complete and submit.
Once that step is complete, you will need to inform Student Accounting of your intent to use your TTPF Tuition Units and provide authorization to bill for the semester by sending an email to email@example.com or submitting your request through Ask UNT.
16.Why is the Texas Tuition Promise Fund credit not automatically posted to my account each semester?
The Texas Tuition Promise Fund Program requires purchasers to authorize payment to schools on a per semester basis.
17.Will the Texas Tuition Promise Fund pay for all fees?
No, the Texas Tuition Promise Fund will pay all or part of the tuition and mandatory fees (required of all students as a condition of enrollment, regardless of year, major or course of study) for a semester based on the number and type of tuition units authorized and the terms of your TTPF contract. Students will be responsible for paying the course and miscellaneous fees.

5.Can I get a short-term loan at the Dallas Campus?

6.When is interest posted for my Short Term Loan?
There is no longer interest charged on short-term loans. Instead, an origination fee of 1% is charged when the loan is processed.
7.If I have paid my first installment payment and added a class, do I have any additional payment due?
Yes, you may have additional fees due. Please check your account at my.unt.edu for any additional due amounts. You may make payment online or get a short-term loan at my.unt.edu.
8.When I try to make an installment payment online it shows the total amount owed. How do I pay only the installment plan amount?

3.What happens if I am late on making my payment?

Any payment for an installment bill in the fall or spring semesters or for fees added to your account from another department (housing, parking, health center) must be received by the designated due date or you will be charged a late payment fee of $25.00. 1.How do I get a new student ID card?
You have two options to choose from when obtaining our UNT ID card.
Mean Green Standard Card – will be your official campus ID providing access to the library, computing labs, campus dining, recreational center and more. This card can be obtained by going to ID Systems located in the Eagle Student Services Center, room 105. Office hours are 8:15 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The UNT Dallas Campus is also available for your convenience. You must present a picture ID. Your ID card will remain active each semester that you are enrolled at the University. Duplicate ID cards may be purchased for $10.00.
Mean Green debit Card – will be your official campus photo ID PLUS added banking convenience. This is obtained by speaking with the on-campus Wells Fargo office located in the Student Union on the second floor.

2.What is the Mean Green Debit Card?
In addition to the standard student ID card, students may request a Mean Green Card that serves as a photo ID and a Visa(R) debit card for added banking convenience through Wells Fargo with purchasing power anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted and free access to cash at Wells Fargo ATMs nationwide.
3.What do I do if I lose my UNT ID card?
Contact the ID Systems office immediately at (940) 565-4481 or firstname.lastname@example.org (business hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) and your card will be deactivated. Come to the ID Systems office in the Eagle Student Services Center Room 105 to get a new card.
NOTE: If you have a Mean Green Card, you will need to contact Wells Fargo to cancel the debit card access.
4.What are the steps to obtain my UNT ID Card?
Go to the ID Systems Office on the 1st Floor of the Eagle Student Services Center on the Denton Campus or to the Student Services Suite on the Dallas Campus.
Provide us with your UNT EMPL ID Number (8 Digit Number that students can locate online at my.unt.edu by going to the Make a Payment page) and a photo ID. Students selecting the Standard Card will have their picture taken and will receive their ID card.
Students also wishing to obtain a Mean Green Debit Card will need to visit a Wells Fargo branch in Texas (one is located on the third floor of the UNT Union). Request your Mean Green Debit Card. You must then come to ID Systems or call our office at 940-565-4481 to get it activated as a student ID card.

1.When are loans, grants and scholarships posted to my account?
The Financial Aid department processes all loans, grants and scholarships. Once the loans, grants or scholarships are approved and funded (eg: student loans are received from the bank/lender), any anticipated aid is removed from your account and the Student Accounting department posts the amounts to your student account. The posting of loans, grants and scholarships is normally done each morning. You can view your account summary at my.unt.edu to determine if any financial aid has been posted to your account.
2.Why is my financial aid loan posted on my account less than the amount I accepted?
Some student loans require you to pay an origination fee that is normally based on the amount of your loan. Information regarding the origination fees should be found in the loan documentation from the lender that you signed.
3.My parents are receiving a parent loan. How will it be processed?
The Financial Aid department processes the loan and the Student Accounting department processes the refund. Any parent loan sent electronically is posted to the student account and tuition and fees are deducted before the refund is processed. Any refund from a parent loan is sent to the parent through the mail by Student Accounting.

The Allan Saxe NT Green Loan is designed to meet the UNT Student's desire for small, simple loans. There is no limit to the number of loans a student may receive throughout the semester, but only one loan at a time may be issued. 1.Will you be sending me information on how much I paid for tuition and fees?
By February 1st of each year, the IRS Form 1098-T is made available on myUNT to all students who were enrolled at least half-time during the previous year. The IRS form includes the amount paid for tuition and fees. You should keep your address current with the University. Updates can be made online at my.unt.edu. 2.What do I do if I have questions about my 1098T?
For a question about your 1098T please call Student Accounting at 940-565-3225. Your information will be taken and forwarded to the appropriate personnel. All questions will be answered within 48 hours except during a peak period.

1.How do you remove a Financial Obligation block from MyUNT?
1. Log into my.unt.edu
2. Click on the "You have a hold!" message at the top
OR click on "Student Center" link on the left-hand side bar, then click "details" in the "Holds" box on the right side.
3. In the items list, find the Student Financial Agreement.
4. Click on "Remove Hold" on the right side.
5. Read the entire Agreement, then click "Confirm" at the bottom.
The hold is then removed.
2.Why did I receive a notice about a "set-aside" amount taken out of my tuition?
To comply with Senate Bill 1304, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, the University of North Texas is required to report to each student the amount of tuition paid by the student that must be set aside by law to provide financial assistance to qualified students. Students will receive an email notification during each semester notifying them of the exact amount of tuition set aside.
