Payment Plans

Payment plans are available in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Students are eligible to enroll in a payment plan once bills are generated for a semester. Students are not eligible for a payment plan if there is a past-due balance on their account.

Payments will be automatically debited from the payment method on file on the same date each month. Credit cards and debits cards will be assessed a 2.79% service fee on each payment. Failed payments will be assessed a fee of $25 and the payment plan will be cancelled.

Payment plan amounts are calculated based on total charges minus any anticipated aid on the student account. (Example: $2,000 total charges - $500 anticipated aid = $1,500 payment plan balance.)

Charges due for additional fees resulting from schedule revisions or adding/dropping courses, will be automatically calculated into your payment plan.

How to Enroll:

  1. Log into myUNT
  2. Click "Student Account" tile
  3. Click "Payment Plan" from the left sidebar menu
  4. Click "View and Manage Payment Plan"
  5. Click the bubble next to your chosen payment plan, then click "Sign up for New Payment Plan"
  6. Follow prompts and enter your down payment
  7. You will receive a receipt once the plan is active

The payment plan is a contract between the student and the University. By enrolling in the payment plan, a student agrees to comply with its terms and conditions, and failure to do so may result in additional charges. A student who fails to make payment of tuition and fees, including any incidental fees, by the due date may be prohibited from registering for classes until full payment is made. A student who fails to make payment prior to the end of the semester may be denied credit for the courses taken for that semester. In addition, by enrolling in the payment plan, a student authorizes the University to assign any unpaid tuition and fees covered by the payment plan to a collection agency or credit reporting agency for the purpose of collecting amounts owed at the University's option. The student agrees to pay all attorney's fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any amount not paid when due.

How can I check on my installment plan payment activity?

  1. Log into myUNT
  2. Click "Student Account" tile
  3. Click "Payment Plan" from the left sidebar menu
  4. Click "View and Manage Payment Plan"
  5. Click on the Agreement ID#
  6. View your Payment Plan Installments
