The UNT ID Card

The UNT ID card is your official ID at University of North Texas. It shows your status as a member of the UNT family. It is important for you to keep your UNT ID on you at all times. It will provide access to several on-campus amenities such as: Library access, events on campus, access to the recreational center and athletic events, access to on-campus dining and residence halls, and more. 

Please note: A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card. Examples of acceptable photo ID documents include: driver's license or passport.

All UNT ID cards must be picked up by the card holder.

Students

New Freshman Student
  1. Please check your 'Tasks' tile in your myUNT student portal and follow the prompts.  Photos must meet the requirements listed below.  (University ID Cards reserves the right to refuse any photo that does not meet the requirements.)
  2. After submission and approval of your photo, we will send a confirmation email to your home email address.
  3. You will pick up your ID card when you arrive for your orientation. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
Transfer Student or Graduate Student
  1. Please check your 'Tasks' tile in your myUNT student portal and follow the prompts.  Photos must meet the requirements listed below.  (University ID Cards reserves the right to refuse any photo that does not meet the requirements.)
  2. After submission and approval of your photo, we will send a confirmation email to your home email address.
  3. Once you have registered for classes, you can pick up your ID card from University Cashiering & ID Cards on the 1st floor of the Eagle Student Services Center (ESSC). We are open Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
Frisco Student
  1. Please check your 'Tasks' tile in your myUNT student portal and follow the prompts.  Photos must meet the requirements listed below.  (University ID Cards reserves the right to refuse any photo that does not meet the requirements.)
  2. After submission and approval of your photo, we will send a confirmation email to your home email address.
  3. Once you have registered for classes, you can pick up your ID card at UNT Frisco Landing, Welcome Desk, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
I need a replacement ID
  1. Please visit University Cashiering & ID Cards on the 1st floor of the Eagle Student Services Center (ESSC). We are open Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
  2. Once enrollment is confirmed, your card will be printed.
  3. A $10 replacement ID fee will be charged to your student account and can be paid at the time of pickup, or online at myUNT.

Faculty/Staff

New Faculty/Staff
  1. Please email idcards@unt.edu.  You will need to include your 8-digit employee ID number, supervisor name, department name, and attach a photo that meets the requirements listed below. 
  2. After submission and approval of your photo, we will send a confirmation email to your UNT email address.
  3. You can pick up your ID card from University Cashiering & ID Cards on the 1st floor of the Eagle Student Services Center (ESSC). We are open Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
Faculty/Staff Replacement ID
  1. Please visit University Cashiering & ID Cards on the 1st floor of the Eagle Student Services Center (ESSC). We are open Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm. (A valid government-issued ID will be required to receive your UNT ID card.)
  2. Your card will be printed when you arrive.

Photo Requirements

  • Current color photo
  • White, smooth background
  • Look straight at the camera
  • Head and top of shoulders ONLY
  • No borders on the photo
  • No hats/bandanas/headbands/masks/face paint/etc.
  • No sunglasses on face or top of the head
  • No hand signs, props, or extra people in the photo
  • File format .jpg or .jpeg ONLY
