What are Waivers and Exemptions?
- Waivers allow certain nonresident students to pay the Texas resident tuition rate.
- Exemptions are a type of financial assistance allowing some Texas residents to attend
a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases,
tuition and fees.
NOTE: Exemptions are not considered payment under state payment guidelines. A student
who does not yet have the exemption applied to their account may still be subject
to cancellation if they fail to meet the state payment requirements.
